Eddie Izzard Has Lost It Again...

If only that only that pink beret didn't see the light of day again...
Why can't the minority (because that's what they are, however slender) just accept that they LOST?!

Izzard is also allowed to demonstrate just like anyone else.
It appears he was attacked by a Brexiter. Not sure that rsflects badly on Izzard, it reflects badly on the Brexiter who took the precation of covering his face.
All much ado about nothing really. Was this really worth a thread of its own?

Gromit > The fact that he is famous doesn't not exclude him from a debate,
Pity he wouldn't allow other panellists to debate on QT...
Yes,he is entitled to air his views, etc but so are others who he frequently tries to shout down.
And yes,it is worth a thread.Plenty of others think so.They are entitled to a debate after all..

Gromit > Agc,
So you are basing your view on one tv appearance. I did not see the programme, but surely Dimblebore controlled the debate?
I am basing my view on his moronic conduct which he has shown on several occasions in interview situations on political matters. There was a lot of discussion on here about his performance immediately after his appearance on QT.Incidentally,'Dimblebore' regularly fails in his 'chair' duties but he had no chance over the lamentable Izzard.
There is an arrogance about certain celebrities who seem to think that their status affords them considerable respect in other fields.Granted,he is articulate but the best talkers are the worst listeners.I put him in that bracket.
As I stated,he has every right to air his opinions and appear how he wishes and does not deserve to be physically assaulted. However,if he wants to be taken seriously he needs to ditch his conceited attitude.
He may have more miles on the clock but in the political world he has very far to go..

I was always somewhat baffled by the strong reaction generated by Izzard's last appearance on Question Time. I can see that people might not agree with him, but if you can't put on an opinionated show on QT, whether you're a comedian, a politician or a member of the audience, then where can you :-)
Izzard just struck me as in the fine tradition of outspoken guests like Paul Heaton, David Starkey etc etc. There aren't enough of them IMO :-)

I just watch the episode on catch up.
The main problem was seating Izzard and Farrage next to each other.
The first question, Farage answered uninterupted. When Izzard was answering, Farage interupted him. That seemed to set the template for the rest of the programme.
Izzard seemed to be running on adrenaline. His one man shows are just him rabbiting on endless, and he hasn't grasped that that doesn't work in a debate.
In fact, it is a flaw that TV Producers should have noticed, and curtailed his invitations onto debates.

No argument from me there! I would say,the interruptions would still have been made even if he was on the opposite side to Farage.
I cited Charlotte Church's performance which was cringeworthy too.Again, articulate, but spoke nonsense about Syria in my opinion.
Anyway, the Remainers cause will not be helped by a 'rabbiter'..

One might have hoped that one's fellow citizens had more self respect than to get involved in a public display of sour grapes after a decision has not gone their way. It's just not the mature British character the world knows us for.
Still I suppose after a few decades of football hooliganism and drunken Mediterranean holiday misbehaviour perhaps such folk have ruined our reputation permanently.

Mamya > So the general advice to Eddie is :
Keep your opinions to yourself.
Don't wear a Pink beret.
Don't accept invitations onto debate shows and you might be safe on the street.
To clarify,he can opine as much as he wants. As long as he gives others the same respect and courtesy.
He can wear a pink beret (but don't always expect to be taken seriously).
He can accept invitations to debate shows but adapt to his surroundings and respect others viewpoints.
He should expect to walk the streets safely.
How's that?
