Looks to me like she needs to learn the basics of her job before playing the sexism card, silly woman.

Women like her make a step backwards in 'the fight' (if there even is such a thing) against sexism.
Shut up and get on with your job and stop trying to deflect from your own shortcomings by accusing other people of stuff.
Can she or did she answer the question? If yes, well done dear you managed to know something about your job. If no, get you finger out and stop playing petty politics and start playing proper politics.

They say the best form of defence is attack - but that depends what you are defending, and who you are attacking!!
Ms Thornberry would have been better with a little damage limitation - I have not yet received all my briefing information ... instead of attacking the interviewer for a spurious and ludicrous 'sexist' attitude.
How to act like both ends of a pantomime horse at the same time!

TTT - //I do have some sympathy with her, these interviewers asking mischievous questions etc. Yes she should know but I do think it's a bit unnecessary of the interviewer. Good point by YMB though, Labour are is such disarray currently I'm surprised she knows her own name! //
I can't agree.
I don't think this question was at all 'mischievous'.
If a shadow minister does not know the name of her international equivalent when she is due to meet him, then she should, and there is no excuse for not knowing.
There is no excuse or qualification for her not knowing, she was caught out fair and square and blustered her way into looking even more incompetent by creating a 'sexism' row where none existed.
