How many times is the Daily Mail going to gasp and point at Ronnie Wood for fathering a baby in his late sixties.
Surely the 'novelty' has worn off by now? It has for me!
What do you think?

I have been a Mail reader for forty-plus years, and increasingly I find myself skipping over larger and larger sections of it - although I do enjoy the crossword.
I did skip past this over breakfast today, but it caught my eye on the on-line sidebar, you know, the one that constantly refers to 'toned tummies', 'side-boobs' 'endless legs' - and other such sub-1960's titillations.

there never was a novelty for me AH! It's well known that men can father children more or less at any age past puberty so nothing to rave about really. Although I don't think I'd want to start again with a nipper but I guess Mr Wood has servants for all that baby stuff anyway. Surprised you are a Mail reader though, I'd have you down as a Guardianista.

You are not the first to be surprised.
In the early days of my frequent exchanges with my learned friend AOG, he would frequently criticise my jibing at his favourite news source, and I would always remind him that I was also a daily reader - I think he remembers now.

jno - //Journos have to read all the papers whether they like them or not. Doing the crosswords is beyond the call of duty though.//
I would never consider myself a 'journo' in the standard use of that term - I always refer to myself as a music writer, because I don't deal in news, and I don't write for a daily paper.
That excuses me from having to read all the papers - thank heavens - although I will read any music publication I can find, in addition to those I write for.

Unless it's a Kate Moss, apparently.

Had he been responsible he wouldn't have married someone who wanted kids when he had reached an age when he is likely to pop off before any offspring were that old. No, they should not have been born with him as their father. Meanwhile who cares if one of the articles in a newspaper isn't to someone's liking ? Turn the page and see what else there is.

One of the most wonderful things about love is that we don't choose who we love, so the notion of loving someone and being 'responsible' doesn't work. Any man would want to have children with the woman he loves, and although I wouldn't personally embark on parenthood at my age (61) it is not for me, or anyone else to deny Mr Wood his happiness. I would have reservations about the morality of the situation, but that is an individual choice.

And that's an individual choice as well!
