This is happening only a few days after the cease-fire was announced.

Who will ever take Assad and Putin, the Butchers of Syria seriously again ?

Good question mikey. I've never believed anything either of them has said regarding Syria. A beautiful country being destroyed by those two.

Hello?

The ceasefire was declared over on sunday night when the US bombed Syrian Government positions killing many of Assads men.

This is not a break in the ceasefire.
Earth calling Gromit :-)
The Russians bomb an aid convoy which stops all that humanitarian nonsense
Let battle commence ...
// The Syrian military has announced a new offensive in rebel-held eastern Aleppo //

I like how the use the word 'rebel-held' when they really mean Al Qaeda held. It puts a different slant on things don't you know.

// Assad and his allies say they are battling the al Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front in Aleppo – neither group is included in the temporary ceasefire //

Gromit....yes it is, and it was broken before yesterday, by whoever dropped bombs on the aid convoy. The Butchers of Syria between them are to blame for this outrage, not the Americans.

Assad, not the Americans, have been using chemical weapons on his own people, including mustard gas for years.

ichkeria

I am not defending the bombing of the aid convoy, but the ceasefire had already been declared over by the time it was sent in. It was foolhardy for them to drive into an active war zone.
Question Author
Gromit...perhaps the personal involved in the aid convoy thought that they would be safe, with the whole world watching, as well as the UN ?

Perhaps all the health workers involved in giving humanitarian aid to the Syrian people thought the same ?

And that is the point of this thread....who will ever believe and trust Assad and Putin ever again ?

Butchers.

Thanks Boaty !
Hello Mikey, and will write this slower, so it might sink in.

The truce was broken on SUNDAY when the US bombed Syrian Government posts killing many of Assads men. The ceasefire was declared over as a result of that raid. The US was summoned to an emergency UN meeting where they were forced to apologise. They tried to pass off the bombing as a mistake.

So Aleppo returned again to a war zone then. Anything that happens since the breaking of the ceasefire on sunday is just another incident in a six year civil war.

It is obvious where Assad gets weapons for 6 years worth of war, but where do you think these rebels, many of whom are al qaeda and ISIS affiliated, getting their weapons from?
1) It's the Middle East
2) It's a long standing Civil war.

Who knows who is right and who is wrong. We have seen the result of removing 'butchers' too many times now. Do you not learn Mickey?
Question Author
Gromit....Don't worry....it has "sunk in" now.

Assad and Putin are bombing Aleppo from the air, not the Americans.

Assad is using the accidental bombing by the Americans as an excuse for abandoning a cease fire that he never believed in, or wanted in the first place.

The Americans are not the problem here. They are not the ones that are dropping chemical weapons on the Syrian people.

I am unsure why you are not wholeheartedly condemning Assad and Putin here ?

Mikey, what is your solution?
Question Author
YMB....dropping chemical weapons on people is a war crime......that is "wrong" .....no confusion there at all. Bombing aid convoys is "wrong" as well....again, no confusion there either.

I seem to recall that nobody worried very much when Milosevic and Karadice were removed from power.
War crimes are normally dealt with after the war is over, usually when real facts are to hand since often with propoganda on both sides the real truth is difficult to establish.

And, what about Saddam and Gadaffi? What has removing them done?

So how about an answer to Naomi's question?
No, please ... Anybody But Hillary!!

If it's not the corruption and money laundering of the Clinton Foundation, the vicious threats against the poor girls who were the sexual victims of her filthy husband, the dereliction of duty that led to the Benghazi deaths, the subsequent lies about that incident, the anti gay rights policies (which she now conveniently forgets), the pro Iraq invasion policy (which she now conveniently forgets), the fabricated charges against Julian Assange, the curiously convenient err "suicide" of Vince Foster, when he was going to testify against her, the claim that her unlawful election donations were in gratitude for her 9/11 work, even though they were paid to her before 9/11 happened, the misuse of the classified emails, the destruction of the classified emails, the lies to the special committee and the FBI about which ones she has handed over, the furtive meeting on the private jet with the Attorney General who was handling the investigation against her ... it's ...

Noo, I have to stop before I cry ...

If Hillary Clinton was an ordinary citizen, she would have been arrested years ago.

Donald Trump might not be the best presidential candidate in history. But ...

Hillary Clinton belongs in prison. Period. The End! The woman should be arrested, charged, and sent (a "penitentiary" do they call it?)
Wrong thread, sorry.

Don't you hate it when that happens.

:o(
It's possible that the Russian attack on the aid convoy was also a case of mistaken identity: understandable perhaps as they've been using 'aid convoys' to smuggle arms into occupied E Ukraine
Pro-Assad Twitter accounts supposedly announced the strike as such before the truth about the target became apparent. Like MH-17
At least the US owned up to their blunder which of course did not help but which did not in fact officially end the ceasefire
The US pledge to separate 'fundamentalists' from other Rebels was hopelessly naive: it's a physical impossibility by now
I find the equivocation of many here regarding the crimes of Assad and Putin rather perplexing I must say.
Clinton should go to jail but we shrug our shoulders at the war crimes of Assad Putin and co.
What would really help would be a grounding of all combat aircraft in this war but guess who won't agree to that. The bombing in most cases amounts to terrorism as brutal as anything IS etc has to offer. The difference is the latter boast about it on social media while the others eventually lie about it
I'm with Mr Putin. Annihilate Isis, no one else will.
Question Author
What about all the innocent people Orderlimit ? And the aid workers ?

Should Putin annihilate them as well ?
