Come come sir, surely it's all about national pride and those three lions.

It's all been a big mix-up, there's no corruption in football. :)
soccer is riddled with corruption from top to bottom. I doubt the replacement will be any cleaner.
if he was on a win bonus he probably needed to make his money up somewhere else

still he has 2 records, 100% on games played and the shortest manager in history, not bad.

Dou, according to the early morning news, there's more to follow, whilst a lot of people are struggling to pay their way these greedy Basds do this, I thought Sam was a decent person, how wrong can we be.

That should be Doug.
I think the deal Mr Allardyce attempted to make for £400,000 was less about the money, and more about self-affirmation.

Football is riven with paranoia and back-stabbing, and the further up the ladder you progress, the worse it becomes.

You need to be a very special temperament to be able to withstand the pressures of that job, and even the strongest characters, and Mr Allardyce is clearly one of those, still needs that affirmation deep down that he is wanted, needed, and good enough, and that affirmation comes with the sort of deal he was making.

That does not for one moment excuse his avarice and gross stupidity, but it does go some way towards explaining it.

The corruption that is rife in football from the bottom to the top will never disappear as long as it is run by people who are riven by personal greed and utter lack of responsibility - and that applies to the FA as much as its succession of unsuitable managers.

Andy, I must be an Odd Ball, I could not, would not, never except a bribe, I have too much on a conscience.
Too much money in the game, football fans are being ripped off and they dont, wont or cant see it
TWR - //Andy, I must be an Odd Ball, I could not, would not, never except a bribe, I have too much on a conscience. //

Absolutely - but if the bribe is dressed up as a 'business incentive' - as they usually are, then that makes the whole process easier for those so inclined.
Give Harry Redknapp the job, he's a good, honest chap, his only request would be that his wages are paid into an off-shore account under the name of his dog Rosie! Then again we could give it to Venables, another who liked a brown envelope or two!! All 3 of them are dinosaurs, old school sort of managers, it needs a young go ahead coach like Eddie Howe, give him the job and tell him its his for 10 years, plan way ahead, it obviously will not bring instant success but long term who knows, after all, it can't get any worse!

Andy, if you had an Expenses paid trip to china to seal the deal, which I think it was, with Sam's Experience in the Game & what goes on, would you not smell a rat? I think he was part Izzed when you saw the interview.
