I think LA was stupid to make political statements like this.
But I like her as a person, and as a singer. Her CDs are just such simple fun, with no "filler tracks".
It's true that her dad didn't release a follow up football song after Vindaloo (still the best football song EVER!!) because he didn't want to take attention away from Lily, but I don't think one could say that she's living off her dad's name.

Another luvvie spouting off she should be apologising for conning the public into thinking she was talented and making money on the back of it she should concentrate on her own children as according to reports she is in the throes of divorce she has a six bedroom Cotswold farmhouse as well as other properties so let's see her acccomodate these unfortunate people

The notion that the public are 'conned' by artists that the poster does not like has never been a valid argument.
Yes there is a section of the public who will latch onto the latest 'fad' - but no-where near as many as have bought Lily Allen's singles and albums.
You can dislike her, and the foolish statement she has made - but that does not detract from her considerable talent as a musician, which is matched some impressive music sales.

BOO - //Id be more impressed by her if she put her (considerable) money where her mouth is and housed a few of them. //
This is a common response when people with money make statements about deprivation.
But practically, to do so would address nothing, and it would be impossible to choose who to take and who to leave.
If that argument is valid, then we should all take someone in.
I speak as one of millions of householders in the UK who has the room to take in a refugee, but I wouldn't, I suspect no-one would.
Just because people have more money and more room should not make them any more morally bound to make a gesture - and that is all it is - towards a multi-national problem.

Think we were right then Chill.
And it doesn't get any better for LA today, the boy that she apologised to, on our country's behalf, has said he is happy that we intervened in Afghanistan to save his people from the Taliban.
