Police found an article of his clothing. His poor mother has accepted he is dead.
Poor poor lady.

The problem is until they find him they'll still never know whether he died or not. I cant imagine them ever giving up just that little glimmer of hope. I feel like that and I don't even know him. Poor people. Awful, just awful.

I heard on the news this morning, that a favourite toy car of his has been found.

I am not sure what makes the Police so certain that this is the evidence that they have been looking for, for the theory that he was killed accidentally by a JCB. The area that they have been searching is just behind the house where he lived and he could have dropped that toy at any time, while playing there.

Having said that, I guess I accept that he died in the way that is stated. Poor Ben.

I heard the same Mikey, but they can not be 100% sure that the JCB was the cause, although the car was found,the car COULD have been dropped IF Ben had been abducted.

TWR....that is just what I am saying.....it seems a very final conclusion, where the evidence is anything but sure and conclusive.

I would have thought that some remains at least, would have been found.....bones can last for centuries in the ground and yet nothing was found.

Baldric.......it seems to me that the villain in this affair is the original Greek Police investigation. The trail has long gone cold by now.

If the family are content now, to let matters now lie, then so be it. But its seems to me that its still a very unsatisfactory conclusion.

Ummm.....this affair been gnawing at the family for 25 years. I think that I would be more content with the knowledge that Ben is now dead, rather than spend the next 25 years waiting for him to turn up. But I am not in the families position.....and never hope to be.

Yes, Mikey, but I think I'd rather live with a glimmer of hope than have the knowledge that my toddler was killed and dumped.

Talbot....yes, of course, if what we are now led to believe is true. I am merely pointing out that the original Police investigation leaves a lot to be desired.

A Policeman acquaintance of mine, told me, many years ago, that when dealing with missing persons that it essential that as much progress is made ASAP after the disappearance. The longer the gap, the less chance that the truth will come out.

On a very different but related subject. I notice that there has been no progress on the missing young Airman.

Ummm....you may very well be right....this is a very difficult situation for everybody.

What an absolutely unimaginable trauma for his family to have gone through - and for so long.

I would feel exactly the same. What a nightmare scenario and no end in sight.
