We are being told by our hand wringers that such measures are invasive, but it is ok to strip search and conduct body searches on middle aged holiday makers flying OUT of the UK. Guess what though, in Countries that do make an effort to get to the truth of the matter up to 90% of the "children" were indeed fully grown adults. None of course were women.
TOGO- I agree that 'ethics' should not be such a factor regarding teeth x-rays and I'm sure a way round the ethics rules could be found. But the BDA do say the tests are unreliable and therefore any arguments that they find the true age are flawed. What would be interesting would be to see some statistics on the reliability. Surely someone has done research into the accuracy/reliability- you could just test say 10000 (maybe African descent) people whose real ages are known and then do a statistical analysis. If teh research showed for example they were accurate 90% of the time to within 1 year that that might be sufficiently accurate. We really need this sort of information before asserting one way or another that the tests should or should not be done
