one of the drivers of this is to make the facilities "universally accessible", meaning an acceptance that society's traditional "2 gender" view is outdated and divisive.
......is it?

I went on the i360 ride on Brighton seafront recently, and the toilets there are unisex - ie a large open space with (well-sealed) cublicles round the walls, for the use for whoever wants them. No problems. In fact women seemed to face less of a wait than they do when queuing outside women-only facilities, though that may not always be the case.
We the Brits have always had a thing about gender. I well remember being in France in the RAF in 1944 & using a cafe toilet urinal & ladies were walking past ( behind ) to get to the loo. I do not see a problem with both unisex swimming changing rooms or indeed public toilets it could save a fortune rather than having to build separate facilities. It would be simple to have an attendant on site to ensure there was no monkey business.
