andy-hughes, has it ever occurred to you that you're the only one here who consistently bangs on about 'the rules'? Even the editorial staff don't waffle on about 'the rules' like you do. It gets pretty tedious you know.
Talbot - //According to the dictionary it was a threat ... but hey if it makes you feel good to remove answers knock yourself out.

I'm getting past caring. //

I knew we'd get to that sooner or later, so, at the risk of being all Groundhog Day - let me just clear that point up for you here and now.

Point one - I stand by my post trying to avoid you and I from getting into a pointless spat about deleted posts because it contravenes Site Rules, and posts get deleted, which was all I pointed out to you.

And now - and please pay attention because I am tired of repeating this -

I DO NOT REMOVE POSTS THAT INVOLVE ME PERSONALLY, IT IS ABUSE OF MY POWERS AS A MODERATOR, AND I DO NOT DO IT.

And therefore, under the laws of consistency, and please do pay attention again here -

I DID NOT DELETE YOUR POST ABOUT MONKEY BRAINS.

Right - now can we move on?
Naomi - //andy-hughes, has it ever occurred to you that you're the only one here who consistently bangs on about 'the rules'? Even the editorial staff don't waffle on about 'the rules' like you do. It gets pretty tedious you know. //

Please see my post at 15:32.

The only tedious aspect is that you or Talbot or YMB or AOG or a few others, make an issue of it - therein lies the tedium.
andy-hughes, if you didn't do it continually there would be no issue to make.
aw gawd.
I didn't say you removed the answer, I said 'Perhaps some ABers are not as educated as they like to profess' maybe whoever removed has not heard of what imo is the most revoltiing way of slaughtering an animal.

But you did state that more posts would be removed, rather than possibly be removed.
Naomi - //andy-hughes, if you didn't do it continually there would be no issue to make. //

I do it when I think it is appropriate - and at no other time.
Talbot - //I didn't say you removed the answer, I said 'Perhaps some ABers are not as educated as they like to profess' maybe whoever removed has not heard of what imo is the most revoltiing way of slaughtering an animal. //

You are wriggling now, and it's not at all edifying to see.

When you post 'If it makes you feel good to remove answers ...' directed to me, when you are complaining about posts being removed, do you think anyone reads that as being directed at anyone except me?

You were having a pop, you got caught, so let's drop it and move on shall we?

//But you did state that more posts would be removed, rather than possibly be removed. //

Obviously a moderator (I am not the only one you know!!!), or someone in Editorial is overseeing this thread - witness the speed with which your post was deleted, so it is likely that other threads would go as well, that is all I pointed out. It was not a threat, it was an attempt to stop the thread being de-railed, or deleted.

But tell you what, since I an upbraided for trying to remind people of the rules that apply to all of us, and since I am accused wrongly of deleting posts, I will desist from trying to keep things on track, and if you get posts deleted, or you get suspended, or banned, I won't really care less.

Is that better?

You were having a pop, you got caught, so let's drop it and move on shall we?

No I wasn't, if I wanted to have a pop it would be made clear I was having a pop.
You are basically now calling me a liar but you can do that because you are allowed to abuse your position.

Tut tut, a self confessed moderator breaking rule number two, Thou must not shout.

I am not calling you a liar, I am saying that what you said was not true.

This is spiralling, and as such, I am withdrawing.

Thank you.
Half this thread now doesn't make sense because of one removed answer (which I didn't see). Was it about the well documented and factual way brains are eaten in certain parts of the world?
Vulcan - //Tut tut, a self confessed moderator breaking rule number two, Thou must not shout. //

I consider myself told off - but I only ever shout when simply saying something repeatedly until I am sick of it, is not working.

Then I will raise my voice.

Prudie - //Half this thread now doesn't make sense because of one removed answer (which I didn't see). Was it about the well documented and factual way brains are eaten in certain parts of the world? //

Indeed it was, but the way it was worded was open to interpretation - and someone removed the post.

Talbot took exception, I tried to head off a spiral at the pass, got accused of being threatening and removing his post - and the rest you know.
andy-hughes, //I do it when I think it is appropriate - and at no other time.//

How come no one else ever thinks it's appropriate?
It was Prudie.

I was highlighting the absurdity of andy's statement.

andy-hughes
My view is, if you eat meat, then you are a hypocrite if you protest in any way about any of the degrees of 'humanity' used to kill animals for food.

I am unsure of the point you are making here.

I assume - please correct me if I am wrong - that you were using the example of monkey brains to illustrate a more inhumane way of killing and eating animals.

But the issue is cruelty, not the degree of cruelty surely?

To me, whether you eat monkey brains using the customary method (not outlined for the sensitive on here) - or you eat a bacon sandwich from a pig which was not stunned correctly - to protest that one is worse than the other is invalid.

Animal cruelty is animal cruelty - niceties and degrees don't really matter in my view.
Naomi - //andy-hughes, //I do it when I think it is appropriate - and at no other time.//

I have no idea, but as I have advised, it is academic, that practice is being ceased forthwith for reasons outlined.
I disagree with you on many threads andy ... how many of those threads have I resorted to name calling?

''I am not calling you a liar, I am saying that what you said was not true.''

bizarre!

I watched a programme where it showed a table which had holes cut out that were used to tie a monkey to the underneath so they could smash the skull to eat the brains. Sick!
