I fear for the once beautiful country in which I was born. Make no mistake that In 50 years time, this country will be ruled by Muslims and the national faith will be Islam. That is of course unless we wake up and prevent this from happening, one can only hope, for the good of the future's young.

Can we stay civil and on topic please? The off-topic sniping is rather boring.
Some good points in the article, many former Mill towns such as the one I live in have gone through the same change in areas close to the where the mills (Cotton in our case) stood, workers came and as said built their communities, shops and businesses and places of worship.

As those born and bred moved to the leafier areas away from the terraced streets and got work elsewhere many of the Asian population stayed and more arrived.

It is often human nature and or affordability that draws people together.

The areas heavily Asian populated in my town aren't no go areas in fact they are a great place to shop.

Problems? Yes of course there are but there are in other areas too.

Mamya - I also live i na city with a very large Asian community. which has grown up around the university quarter, no doubt for similar reasons - large amounts of affordable terraced housing.

The Asian community continues to grow, but there is no issue in terms of integration - the only problem Islamophobes may have is in getting a taxi in the city - virtually every cab is driven by an Asian driver.

And yet you, by your own admission, know only one Muslim - the barber you go to. That doesn't really gel.

Why does that not gel?

I live in a city with over two-hundred-and-fifty-thousand people in it, and apart from family and work colleagues, I doubt if I know or have contact with more than twenty of them.

I don't live or work in the Muslim quarter, so why would I know more than the one who is my barber - his faith is purely a conincidencce anyway.

Divebuddy - do you? I don't.
// the only problem Islamophobes may have is in getting a taxi in the city - virtually every cab is driven by an Asian driver. //

only if it proves that the words "Asian" and "Islam" are exclusively interchangeable - in Birmingham, Asian culture is much more than that.
A fair point mushroom - it was careless of me to infer that all Asians in the city are Muslims, I am sure their religious diversity is at least as complex as that of the Caucasian population.
"...the barber you go to. That doesn't really gel."

I like a bit of humour on these serious thread

And yet you say with confidence "there is no issue in terms of integration". How could you possibly know that?

fiction-factory, I thought 'gel' rather appropriate. ;o)
I live in the next town over from Andy (23miles) and we have a very small Asian population so they are not spreading very quickly.
Naomi - My wife reads the local paper, my mother-in-law is an avid listener to the local BBC Radio station, and I read daily press and watch television news.

If there were integration problems, the media would be aware, and therefore, so would I.

I don't live in the Muslim area of the city, but I don't live in an ivory tower with a moat round it ten miles away either.
andy-hughes, right. Then unlike all those media sources that you don’t believe, you believe these. How do you differentiate when you’ve had no personal experience of anything any of them are saying?
Naomi - some time ago I advised you that I had elected not to debate Muslim issues with you because it always ended in a stupid spat and cost some people their threads.

I can see this going the same way, so I am reverting back to my previous position.

I believe you have no respect for my views or opinions, so i will refrain from placing them directly in front of you - I think that's best all round.
andy-hughes, that was a very reasonable question - as was the one I asked you when you suddenly refused to talk to me the last time. There is no indication of a spat kicking off here - you simply have no answer.
Andy Hughes. Good decision.
Naomi - if it makes you feel better to think that, you go right ahead.

I have given you a perfectly valid reason why I no longer wish to debate with you. If it makes you happy to twist into some sort of victory, then don’t mind me, but this is my last direct post to you.
