Mikey, ‘Unfettered’ = unrestricted. Corbyn supports unfettered immigration. I recall Trump saying that unskilled immigrants coming into the US have a negative impact upon low earners because they will do the jobs for even less money. It happens here too. Surely something that Corbyn should think about. That’s common sense.
Webbo....that is not what he says at all ! The word "unfettered" was never mentioned.
He said that the American economy needs migrants. Anybody who has driven on the Los Angeles Freeways can see evidence of that....picks-ups with three large Mexicans in the front and gardening equipment in the back.
Or the armies of fruit pickers that are needed to harvest the vast amounts of produce in the Central Valley.
Mikey, webbo is not saying 'unfettered' was used in this link. If you read it correctly he says
"Not content with say WE SHOULD HAVE unfettered immigration he thinks America should be doing the same"

He is NOT saying there should be unfettered immigration! He is making the valid point that the USA depends on Mexico for a large % of its labour force, especially those jobs that are low paid. It is 100% true that the USA would be in deep trouble if all the Mexican workers went home. Also when did he say that the UK should have 'unfettered immigration' ?
Eddie, //Corbyn repeatedly said during the referendum campaign that he did not believe Britain should seek to cut immigration……His spokesman told journalists: “He is not concerned about numbers,” //
naomi, the UK has a legal minimum wage, the USA does not. It would be legal in the USA to pay $1 an hour if the employer can get away with it. That means workers in the USA can be forced to work for well under the 'poverty line' and it is mainly migrant labour that suffer.
Eddie, the minimum wage is irrelevant. That said, you've shot yourself in the foot with that one. If there is no minimum wage in the US, how much easier is it for migrant workers, especially illegal migrant workers, to work for less? You think by supporting a 'come one come all' policy that you're helping migrants, but actually you're not. You're harming the poorest in society.
