Labour have already said it won't block brexit, the Tories will fall into line so will this now stop all this sillyness and get on with implementing the democratic will of the majority?

Good point. The leavers may have thought of the potential difficulties and factored them in so shouldn't be too surprised at the slow progress and stunbling blocks and maybe just need to let those charged with delivering Brexit find a way through

At risk of promoting more SGB posts i switched from being just on one side of the fence then the other to a firm Remain because I felt that extricating ourselves and putting something else in place may take 5-10 years. Hopefully it will now take less than that and in 18 months from now we will wonder what all the fuss and doubts were about, but I am not totally confident.
Zacs-Master, will you please stop saying that those who voted ‘Leave’ are ignorant. They're not. I can’t say people bargained for the obstructive opposition the result has engendered, but I don’t believe many of us thought the path to independence from the EU would be simple or that we would experience no effects. If the government is allowed, by the dissenters, to do what it promised to do, eventually the 'Jam' will come.

No they probably did not. But believing that something you want might be difficult to achieve should not have an influence on the way you voted. I know they did so without ensuring the legalities were ironed out but the electorate was told that their decision would be implemented by the government. They should not have to think through the potential difficulties in carrying out that pledge. My decision was made on what I wanted to see happen, not on how difficult or easy my choice would be. It was obviously going to be far easier to remain than to leave and so a clear "Remain" vote should have followed if that was a major consideration, so it clearly wasn't.

It depends whether one was making a decision on what was felt to be best for the short term (next 5 years or so with all the potential distraction/upheaval), the medium term (next 5-15 years) or the longer term for future generations. Some voted for what was best for them and some for future generations. People can factor in all sorts of things and it whatever choice they made for whatever reason is just as valid as the next person's vote
I would have thought those who knew we were in for a rough time would have an 'ok this is the rough time I anticipated' attitude, 'I'll just weather the storm cos I know it'll be alright in the end', but no. They somehow feel they have to shout down those who speak against them. I can only conclude it's much rougher than they thought.
