Doubt they will, I have both received as change and paid for Taxi journeys with mine and almost all the drivers are Muslim.

The laws of legal tender mean that if you hand over a £5 note for something costing £2.50 for example, the vendor is not obliged to give any change.

I would suggest that they would have to provide a reason that qualifies within the law - and I am not sure religious practice is covered.

No doubt there will be a test case along in a day or so.
