Do you agree with Mr Norberg? I tend to think that we are a lot better off in so many ways but we are slipping into chaos via liberal thinking.

It would be news if that was not happening. It is Liberal thinking which spearheads progress, and conservative elements that hold things back.

gromit; "The exception was the Dark Ages when the Church held back mankind for 500 years" - that was a bad period but I think that religion generally is a huge negative factor on the development of humankind. To really progress we need to stop brainwashing each generation from birth with ridiculous mumbo jumbo, only then can we truly advance to our potential.

the church (and Islamic science) were about the only institutions keeping knowledge alive during the dark ages when most men were illiterate and concentrating on killing each other and stealing their wives and pigs. Religion started to outlive its usefulness, but not really till the renaissance.
Whether people are happier today is hard to say. But if they're unhappier, it's for a lot longer.

well what about the free movement in Europe, that hasn't caused a problem has it? That's an obvious example of Liberalism causing chaos. The other big ones include the abandoning of law enforcement so for example you have to do 300 burglaries before there is any chance of jail at the same time the victims of crime are the ones getting prosecuted. Then there is the routine persecution of the masses to accommodate minorities, then the routine name calling of anyone who does not hold the "correct" view on any given subject. I could go on but you and your sort have your view burnt in.

Not sure 'Traitor' is name calling, well not in the same class as the usual lefty 'knuckle dragging' 'swivel-eyed' blah blah bah.
Agree totally TTT. The liberal left are edging us further and further to anther war by making the far right electable. Lucily so far they have not got anywhere but it's looking close in Europe.
