Why?
Question Author
It seems a little morbid and slightly disrespectful to the victims and their families.
seems rather bizarre, but apart from the fact that Peter Mandelson is involved, I don't suppose the Chinese have any particular cause to respect the British and American dead, any more than we worry about the Boxer Rebellion dead.

///Why?///

It does actually tell you in the Link ZM supplied.

Jno, and is there a boxer rebellion theme park then?
I don't understand why either.
Question Author
I think the 'why' was asking me why I was disturbed.
ZM, there was a Titanic restaurant in London, so named because it was above another restaurant called the Atlantic. I dimly recall one of the promoters saying the food would go down well. It didn't last that long but I thought it was dodgy, for Britain. In China, though? I doubt it.
"...there was a Titanic restaurant in London, so named because it was above another restaurant called the Atlantic"

Must have been for a brief period in April 1912, then! :-)
about 2000, I think. But it eventually went under.
As was my 'why' Zacs.

People are fascinated by things like this. Whether it be the Titanic, Alcatraz, Jack the ripper tours, concentration camps...

I don't find it disturbing at all.

I see no problem it's just a theme park ride. The last survivor of the Titanic died several years ago.

I think there is a standard of waiting 100 years, isn't there? In case of survivors or family.
I read about this and was kind of uncomfortable about it. I feel the same about scuba diving on sunken ships. Can't do it.
Pixie , The Titanic sank in April 1912 , over 100 years ago.
Exactly... :-)
It's all water under the bridge now ;-)
