Gott Im Himmel ven vill zee peoples underztant!! Come on Gromit, pure and simple by the rules of the referendum and the way it was staged BREXIT won the vote, neither you Mikey or any of our other resident lefty europhiles can question that yet the same drum is forever sounding. This woman has the money and now the notoriety to challenge this where ever she feels...

TTT I will try yet again. (Not that I expect it to have any effect!)
This is NOT about thwarting' the democratic will of the majority!' It is about the method by which that 'democratic will' is is to be enacted.
Leaving the EU is, by a very long way, the most profound change in the constitution of the UK that will be happen for the foreseeable future.
It will affect not just our generation but future generations for decades possibly centuries to come.
Do you want that change to be enacted according to the personal whim of just one politician? I mean REALLY do you?????
Such a huge change needs to be fully debated and discussed by the whole of our parliment, that is ALL this 'challenge' is about. Ensuring that leaving the EU is fully discussed and debated in both houses of parliment, rather than being 'railroaded' by the personal and secret agenda of one person.
A person furthermore, who on the day of the referendum was firmly against leaving the EU, but has now been compelled to to do a U turn and force through something she personally is on record as saying she does not believe in or want ?
Is that REALLY how you want 'Brexit' to be achieved???

you don;t get it do you. They can &*^% right off, we ain't paying them any money. I'm not the one that is confused, you are mikey. The last thing we need are the MPs/Lords muddying the waters with their selfish cobblers. Just leave then we can do deals like any other country, what is so difficult for you to grasp?
"Do you want that change to be enacted according to the personal whim of just one politician? I mean REALLY do you????? " that's is it though is it? the majority voted to leave, so the government can just get on with it. What possible debating points are there? If we put it through the commons the only reason would be so they can block it or it serves no purpose at all. I they do not intend to block it then what is the point?

mikey4444// Ninefingers....I have made my position quite clear on this issue, many times before, but because you asked me reasonably nicely, I am willing to do it one more time.
No, I would have preferred to stay in the EU.
But I accept the result of the referendum. I don't want another re-run of the Ref.
However, as the Court ruling has already said, it should be Parliament that decides.
I fully expect that the appeal before the Supreme Court will uphold the lower Courts ruling. Mrs May will have to then proceed, in Parliament, to start the withdrawal process.
I'm not sure if I can make this any clearer. Lets wait for the outcome of the Supreme Court, and then proceed from there.
And please .....don't shout...I am not deaf and anyway, its rude. //
Less shouting than emphasis Mikey no offence meant; I understand your perspective and have acknowledged that before however there seems to be a hold on the fact that "courts have yet to decide" meaning there is still a vain hope that they'll rule it can't happen. For me it's not just BREXIT at stake it the simple concept of democracy thats at stake!

Now Corbyn has nailed his colours to the mast;

Corbyn is one of the few in Parliament who voted against signing the Maastrict and Lisbon treaties, when they were debated. His personal colours were nailed to the madt years ago.
The problem for Cobyn is that he has no leadership abilities, and his party is ungovernable. He may be leader, and not opposing Brexit may be the right policy, but the loon MPs who are a law unto themselves, will not follow party policy and will continue to disobey and undermine him.

What has happened is that the British public has been faced with the reality that democracy is, in fact, a complicated businesses that requires well-designed institutions to work properly.
And they don't like it.
Well, this is what happens when successive governments neglect political education, I suppose.
