Severn Bridge....the News Just Gets Better And Better !
http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/uk -wales- politic s-38616 302
Yesterday, we were told that the new fees in next year will probably be only £3:00, against the nearly £7:00 it cost today. Now it could even be free at night !
This is the best news since the Bridge was stolen away from us years ago.

On the contrary; one thing that makes folk look daft is quibbling over something that serves to prove the point it was making, simply because it isn't universally correct; and implying that the world isn't round in order to back up the quibble. But I'm sure you know that and are being argumentative for your own amusement. Your choice, your rep.
“I have already said that the M6 Toll road is entirely avoidable.”
The Severn Bridge is just as avoidable, Mikey. Using the alternative (the “old” M6) may not involve travelling so many miles in diversion as travelling to Wales via Gloucester (about an extra 50 miles, I think) but at many times of the day the saving in time using the Toll road is just as great as using the Severn Bridge.

Our Scottish friends manage to obtain free of charge all sorts of things that their English cousins have to fork out for. If you want to know how this can be achieved Google the “Barnett Formula”.

The Second Severn Crossing was built by a business consortium under a Public-private partnership (funded and operated through a partnership of government and one or more private sector companies). A company called Severn River Crossing Plc, led by John Laing plc and GTM-Entrepose [a French constructor], was formed to build the new crossing. The company also took over the responsibility of managing and maintaining the old Severn Bridge crossing, as well as managing and maintaining the new crossing. The cost of constructing the new crossing was expected to be paid for by tolls collected from motorists using the two crossings.
The company has until 2022 to recoup its "fixed sum of money" through tolls...
