Condemnation of the former is so much less of a problem, especially when it comes to rooting around for suitable descriptors.
Maybe the government should organise classes to instruct our young men in acceptable behaviour towards women.

"It is for a specific section of rich young men who live feted lives, and do not hear the word 'No' anything like often enough to educate them into the way of life where they don't think that their pleasure is there for the taking with no consequences to them, because they happen to have a talent that is a valuable commodity. "
Which specific section of rich young men?, is their a collective term for them and is that term "footballers"?

Sqad - //vortex...your reply above.
We are not dealing with a sober victim, we are dealing with a drunken one, apart from that i agree with your comment. //
Since the fact that the woman was drunk is the entire plank on which her case is based, how can you say you agree with vortex's point?
//A-H...I agree with you entirely......but it ain't going to come to pass. //
As long as we metaphorically shrug our shoulders as though we are saying 'Boys will be boys ...' then you are right, nothing will change.
I just happen to believe that we owe it to the women in our society, and to ourselves as men in a civilised society, to make it clear by education and appropriate punishment, that this sort of behaviour is simply not going to be tolerated - and certainly not on the basis that it has been up to now.
Society changes itself - if it has the will. We don't put children up chimneys or down mines, so why should we accept the rape of intoxicated women as a calculated risk they take in order to go out and consume alcohol.

It applies to anyone who has a talent that grants them access to a lifestyle where their responsibilities can be abandoned because no-one around them tells them to behave like people not animals - and that includes, but is not limited, to footballers.

\\\Sqad - whether the woman was drunk or not it does not give the right for males to assume that any female gives consent to sexual intercourse.\\
That's what vortex said and that is what i agree with.
He was considering both drunken and sober situations of the victim and i was just pointing out that this thread was about "drunken" victims.

All men,not just footballers, must know they are taking a big risk when approaching females who are heavily under the influence of drink especially where sexual intercourse occurs. It is simply asking for trouble.Such a possible high price to pay for what is most likely to be a one night stand.
Careers are at stake and yet we have seen Johnson,Evans and now this pair willing to jeopardise their future and the sad thing is there will be many more to come.
