It's not wholly about the person who identifies themselves as different to their physical appearance mamya. Has the distress of the vast majority of the girls (to stick to the OP scenario) been considered about having someone who is, to all external appearances, of the opposite gender?

I can understand some parents may be concerned , in a similar but different way when girls were allowed into Cubs/Scouts etc concerns were raised.

Each family will have to consider what is best for their child.

I'll discuss this with my daughter and granddaughter this week, it does affect them.
