He has only stated the truth, do you seriously think that the US hasn't also carried out such killings?

Also isn't is wise to try and get along with Russia rather than make enemies of them, unless of course some want to see the outbreak of yet another war?

Our enemy at the moment is Islamic terrorism, and if we can get such a powerful country as Russia on our side, in the quest to rid the World of this scourge, then all the better.

AOG...he is the first American President to get elected by praising Russia. If that wasn't enough, Putin is a war criminal.

/// AOG...he is the first American President to get elected by praising Russia. ///

Yes and we all know where some of those American Presidents have got us?

Perhaps the more sensible, less warmongering US citizens are fed up with the continuous bickering between their country and Russia, so perhaps that is yet another reason that Trump and not that woman Hillary is now their President?

/// If that wasn't enough, Putin is a war criminal. ///

Know that for certain do you mikey? Some have said that about Bush and also Blair.

AOG...he is the first American President to get elected by praising Russia.

Bonkers!
There seems to be an assumption by some people that we are either deadly enemies of Russia or hand in glove with them against 'Islamic terrorism'.
That is wholly unrealistic. We can cooperate with Russia on some things while not crawling to them and betraying our friends who are threatened by them. Putin is a bit of a terrorist himself, and the amount of assistance he can give is limited anyway.
you're the expert on war criminals mikey! PMSL! TCOGB!
This part of the clip caught my attention -

"Mr Trump was also asked whether it was responsible to make claims about issues without citing facts to back them up, such as his contention that millions of people voted illegally during the US presidential election that he won - but with almost three million fewer votes than his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton.
He replied: "Many people have come out and said I'm right, you know that."

It seems that President Trump thinks that many people have agreed with him, that automatically makes him right. I think history, and current situations, prove that this is a far from reliable measure of veracity.

I am also intrigued that while Mr Trump is busy playing with his brand new toy - Executive Orders - he hasn't used one to start investigations into the election fraud that no-one credible believes for a moment has taken place.
US President in 'espionage and murder is a dirty business carried out by all major powers' shocker.
Mr Trump's response to the Putin questions seem sound enough to me and he is right in wanting to prefer to "get along with him".

Appeasement is the word that springs to mind and where did that get us last time we tried it ?
Trump's bending over backwards to defend Putin ought to worry us. When it's out to him that the Putin has killed people then suddenly the Great America that he wants to stand up for becomes the Great Killer on a par with Russia.
I do think Andy's point is a good one. 'I must be right because other people think I the same way' is of course crass, but also suggests to me insecurity.
BA (so far) for Mr Aog's post at 13:44. This very dangerous aggression from all sides needs to stop. Is Mr Trump really wrong in trying to establish better relations?
DT has stated that he doesn't know Putin very well so I consider it a worthy idea that they stay in regular personal contact so that he can form the best possible working relationship.

They can't ignore each other and they won't agree on some issues but the same could be said with the US/UK relationship.

Lord Carey's remarks about DT were very sensible.

Putin can't be trusted an inch. He is snake in the grass.

While we are debating this, troops in the Eastern Ukraine are fighting like cats and dogs....a dispute that he could stop dead in its tracks if he intervened.

Trump must realise that when you choose to sup with the Devil, you need a very long spoon indeed.
I understand that Donald Trump doesn't want to get things off to a bad start with Putin, but it's one thing making some non-committal remark about needing to concentrate on the things that unite us blah blah blah, quite another to suggest that Russia is just the same as the US.
Luckily there are sensible people around Trump, and it may be that Rex Tillerson, as someone who knows the Russians well, knows exactly what they are like. He was after all favoured by Condoleeza Rice, not exactly a patsy of the Kremlin
"troops in the Eastern Ukraine are fighting like cats and dogs....a dispute that he could stop dead in its tracks if he intervened. "

For the last week Russian heavy artillery have been lobbing Grad missiles from a suburb of Donetsk into the town on Avdiivka. In fairness I don't think Trump is capable of stopping this, but here's what Putin said about it : namely that Ukraine backed Clinton in the election and now they've started causing trouble in order to court dympathy from the new president. "Snake in the grass" is an affront to snakes :-)
Still BA for Mr Aog, as the previous three post don't make sense and are going off-topic
//He is snake in the grass.//

Vlad the Viper?

As long as there no need for a COBRA briefing on Russia :-)
