Speaker Bercow doesn't want Trump to speak in Parliament because of his sexist and racist views.

If applied rigourously, I wonder how many MPs that would rule out

AOG....have you forgotten that "the little man" is a Tory ?
This horrible, tax & expenses whining thief Bercow, needs to get his own house in order, before shouting at others, which he has no vote for.

Don't make me laugh, I suppose you would class Blair as true Labour also?

Also speaking on behalf of others, who he has no vote from.
I don't see the problem with Mr Bercow, whose position includes deciding who speaks to the House, deciding that he doesn't want someone to speak to the House.

Sure, it's the President of the US. But as we were assured only last week, the US and the UK have a special relationship. I would have thought that special relationships can withstand harsh truths being uttered once in a while.

The world right now is bending over backwards to accommodate Trump and his utter contempt for anything that isn't done exactly as he says. At some point that stops being respect and diplomacy and starts being appeasement.
Jiom, //The world right now is bending over backwards to accommodate Trump //

Can't say I've noticed that - and Bercow certainly isn't.

Relax, I don't think you're hysterical, or a hypocrite - and I am sure plenty of other AB'ers don't think that either ... 22:45 Mon 06th Feb 2017

Either you're a fool or your so called humour is absolute garbage. Could quite easily be any of the two.
Jim....Again, well said at 10:52. I can always rely on you to hit the nail on the head !
Mikey, your ‘well saids’ are running away with you this morning. Another one that isn’t right. I can’t see the world bending over backwards to accommodate Trump. Quite the reverse - as is evidenced by the subject of this thread!
Jim has missed the nail by a country mile.
The world is bending over backwards to put Trump on par with the worlds worst dictators.

When Trump actually does something totally horrendous people will be too battle fatigued to take any notice.
I'm not sure you've been paying any attention to Trump at all, Noami, since you seem constantly surprised by reports of what he has, or hasn't, said, and barely aware of how he communicates (or whatever he calls his 4am twitterants).

I can't comment on whether or not I hit the nail on the head. Just calling it as I see it, though. But while Bercow may not tolerate Trump, the fact that it took less than a day for some MPs to call for him to be sacked as a result seems to me to illustrate my point in spades. Criticising Trump is dismissed as a "witch hunt", even when the criticism literally amounts to taking what he has said and sharing it verbatim.

But anyway, it should be obvious that I was referring to world leaders, who are, albeit for pragmatic reasons, currently busy overlooking his myriad flaws and rages against the machine in the hope of currying his favour.
It was funny Andy ;-)
Jim....take no notice. Your posts are always well-thought out, although many people won't believe them of course !
Jim, oh I don't know. I don't 'do' Twitter, but I think I've kept up with the ‘goings on’ pretty well. Perhaps I see it differently because I'm not pre-disposed to hating him.
I'm not pre-disposed to hating him either. I waited until I started paying attention to what he said before doing that.

(Apologies for the earlier misspelling of your name.)
Jim, that's not the impression you've given. Even before he was elected you did nothing but criticise him at every opportunity - and you're still doing it. .
That's because I came to discover what kind of person he was long before the election. And because it's taken not even a week to discover what kind of president he is.

Right ....
Talbot - //Either you're a fool or your so called humour is absolute garbage. Could quite easily be any of the two. //

How very wounding!!!
Jim...Trump was on our screens every night for over a year. He has had plenty of time to make a good impression, but instead, every time he opened his mouth, he jumped in with both feet.

Nothing had changed with his Election, nothing at all. If anything, his reputation for childishness has just been cemented.

I have said this next bit a few times over the last year of so :::

Just exactly would have Trump have to say and/or do, before the scales fall from peoples eyes ?
