UKIPs new leader is promising a rebrand. NuKip will be less Rugby Club on tour, and will try to attract more women.

While that sounds like a good strategy, I can't help but think the result will be he loses more people than he attracts. Farage revelled in being unPC and this new felka seems embarrased by it.

Nuttall clearly has his work cut out on a number of fronts after the shambolic events in the months leading up to him picking up the leadership reins.

It is going to take some time to get going and for many supporters of UKIP it was all about Farage.

Nuttall is right to send out a different message but by embarking on a rebranding exercise he is going to have to convince a lot of sceptics. He will win some people over but could very easily see support dwindle.

The bye-election at Stoke would be a considerable coup being a lowly 72 on the likely list but I don't see him pulling it off.

The party really does have a lot to prove to itself not just the electorate...

I know Farage was on the Brexit side and the party polled a very commendable amount of votes nationally, but a lot has happened in less than 12 months and UKIP have lost a lot of credibility that they worked so hard to build up.

Vortex....it never had much in the way of credibility in the first place. It was always a laughing stock, and is now, thankfully, a part of yesterday. Good riddance !

Mikey, we cannot deny in the GE that UKIP's polling was quite impressive even if that didn't actually translate into Westminster seats.

However, what happened to the party since has been cringeworthy. Nuttall has a massive job on his hands..

UKIP do need to rebrand, after all UK Independence party is not exactly relevant now. Quite how I'm not sure maybe with current thinking take the lefts name calling 'Popularist' turn it around and use that?

YMB...UKIP is now dead in the water. It wouldn't need a re-brand as much as a complete change. Its raison d'être has now been achieved, or it will in the coming years, so what exactty does it now stand for ?

Its only MP is about as welcome in the Party as a rat sandwich, and will soon go back to the Tories, from whence he was poached. The main reason that anybody voted UKIP in the past was due to racial and xenophobic concerns, most of which have been addressed by us voting to leave the EU.

So what is left ?

Their only real asset, Farage, is now busy trying to feather his nest in other areas. He has not put his name down for any of the recent by-Elections, although that may be due to his complete inability to win any of the other 7/8 ones that he tried over many years. Farage raises some interest but doesn't persuade.

Nuttall, to be fair to him, seems a reasonably nice chap, but nice chaps don't go very far in politics as a rule.

UKIP will slowly disappear over the next few months and years, because it just isn't relevant any more. UKIP are yesterdays men.

No, UKIPs work is done they really have no reason to exist after brexit. They can retire or join other parties with the warm glow of rare political success.

I don't think Nuttall will win Stoke but he may eat into the Labour vote sufficiently to allow the Tories to come through the middle. Two very interesting by-elections in a fortnight, on the results of which I wouldn't be prepared to gamble.

I was not a UKIP Voter, having said that that Nice Mr Farage and UKIP have proved to be the most successful Politician and Political Party in recent years. They popped up, set out their Stall and then they delivered the Goods.
Others could learn a lot from that.
