Yes.
well perhaps they can start looking into Saint Tony's war crimes now eh?
As a result of the Al-Sweady Inquiry led by Thayne Forbes, it was discovered that Solicitor Phil Shiner had been paying to find candidates for compensation claims.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority investigated and he was brought before their tribunal and was found guilty of all charges, and struck off as a solicitor. As a result, it has been announced that the probe into soldiers will now be wound down.

And the Daily Mail's involvement in all that? - Zilch.
They are claiming victory for other peoples' good work.
Good.
The Mail did make a lot of noise over the injustice of the enquires, but so did a lot of other people.

As advised, I don't believe the winding-down of the enquiry is down to anything done directly by The Mail - it's more a case of the enquiry's utter inability to bring one successful prosecution - with the notable exception of one of the solicitors involved!
I suppose if the Mail has campaigned (as they say they have) then some credit is due to them at least for publicising this and maintaining awareness.
Yes, there were varying degrees of pressure from a number of sources so the DM will not have the track to themselves for a 'lap of honour'.
