What are your thoughts on the idea that political correctness has now been joined by popularist correctness?

This article posits that 'the Right' are now as rabid in their condemnation of anything and anyone with ideas that run counter to what they believe as 'the Left':

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/feb/19/populist-correctness-new-pc-culture-trump-america-brexit-britain

For every accusation that 'the Left' makes (racist, sexist, homophobic') we now have a new list from 'the Right' ('leftie luvvie', 'snowflake', 'metropolitan elitist').

Does this position have merit?

Are those on so-called 'Right' equally as guilty of trying to stifle debate as those on 'the Left'?

I think a point in the article alludes to what you've put forward - this notion that the Right have only just started started getting offended at everything.

Looking at AB over the years, I would say that's actually not quite true.

Also, there's another phrase - 'vitriol signalling'. It's the equal and opposite of 'virtual signalling'.

The great thing now is - everything is on an even keel. For every 'leftie luvvie' there's a 'right wing outrage-addict'.

I think that's good for all of us!
Are you deliberately being contentious and divisive sp? Why are you determined to undermine my point in a sly and single facet manner............Haha SP you see how easy it is , reap the wind and all that. We haven't seen the last of the "legal" strategies to politics either I feel. Pandora's box ( unfortunate word in our time) is indeed open. (^_*)
