Fair enough , a photo (pixellated) of one of the men being arrested in Poole appeared in the Sun.

So to summarise - one of the refugees in the paper last year has managed to hook up with some Liverpudlian criminals and formed part of a gang who assisted in his escape.
Is that right?

Because I have it on good authority that this so-called child refugee also managed to sneak into the Academy Awards last week and swapped over a couple of envelopes.

It started off as a report about a violent criminal being apprehended in Poole Dorset following a tip off
and someone on AB said - oh look doesnt he look like that romanian paedo ?
and the usual suspects have joined a rush to
condemn and threaten condign punishment on Romanians, paedos of all nationalites ( those paedos with dual nationality are clearly doubly worse ) , scouse criminals, cat poisoners, arsonists, those who dont speak proper and christ knows whom else

I don't think that anyone was claiming that the refugee was a paedophile.
The problem came about because of a Twitter post which started circulating around (ahem) right wing sites on the net.
I thought the pictures could be of the same bloke until a) I realised that the chances of a refugee hooking up with a Liverpudlian gang to spring a convict were slim
And b) whilst the two men superficially look very similar, there are two glaring differences that set them apart.
This thread has once again confirmed that we all really need to stop and think before making comments based on memes, tweets and Internet guff.
