Flights From Cardiff To Heathrow
http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/uk -wales- politic s-39157 615
Much as I would like to see some more jobs here in Wales, just what would be the point of flying to London from Cardiff ?
It only takes about 2 hours city centre to city centre by train and not much more than that by car. Considering the position of both Airports, ie well out of town, and the turning-up-at-the-Airport time required, just why would anyone fly ?
If a connection is needed for onward flights to elsewhere in the world, then good daily connections already exist to Amsterdam.

But some people don't like foreign airports so it gives Heathrow as an option. Plus Heathrow has a lot more onward connections than Schiphol.

Welsh Airlines in the making, cheap flights to Southern Argentina, a new airport for Rhyl perhaps and Holyhead? What's needed is a Methodist saints' centre in Europe (Andorra or Malta perhaps), the equivalent of Lourdes, so that Daffy Air (not Ryan) can fly between Wales and the place duly designated.
It's a long time since I traveled TTT but Schiphol in those days was just one terminal. I came in on a flight from Norwich and transfered same terminal to the KLM flight to Dhahran , Saudi Arabia.
Coming back to the UK, Schiphol had the best duty free shop I have seen. It used to sell boxes of liquor chocolates with REAL full strength Whiskey ,Brandy and Rum in them. You could get seriously *** by eating them!! Never seen the same ones anywhere else .
Believe it or not I used to deliberately book flights via Schipol just to be able to buy the chocs!!

^ I was working in Saudi Arabia and the first flight out of the day was the KLM into Schiphol. Taking the KLM flight gave you nearly 1/2 a day extra back home in UK. Similarly the last flight out of Heathrow to Saudi Arabia was the Qantas flight to Melbourne with a stop in Bahrain to catch the shuttle back to Dhahran . So KLM out and Qantas back let you have an entire extra day to your UK leave.
We use Schiphol to fly to the US, from Norwich. The advantages are numerous, we don't have the drive the Heathrow which would add at least 4 hours to the journey, on return the immigration queue at Norwich is 10 minutes maximum, we were picked up within 20 minutes of landing. This avoids the legendary queues at Heathrow and a long drive home after an over night flight and the high parking charges at Heathrow.
