The Right like to sit back ans snigger at the Left getting so exercised by the man and his pronouncements......and the Left like to laugh at the Right for being so taken in by the credulous gonk.

Human nature I suppose when one is proved wrong so often. Labour would win the GE, the Brexit vote won because UKIP succeeded in it's primary aim, No one would vote for Trump etc.
When you make yourself look foolish with so much egg on face it is better to remain silent and appear a fool rather than mouth off, continually be proved wrong, and dispel all doubt.
Bound to rankle somewhat when you don't follow the adage,"It's no use getting older if you don't get smarter"

It's easy now to claim that the Brexit and Trump victories were big shocks. They were both surprising: but the former was too close to call for most of the campaign while the latter had several polls showing Trump ahead. I think the thing about Trump was that one didn't think that such an unspeakable individual could possibly win, despite evidence to the contrary
AOG - //Had Clinton won, the right would have accepted defeat gracefully and got on with matters much closer to home. //
Seriously???
Trump WON and he has spent every waking hour since then spitting poison like a adolescent cobra with personality issues - can you imagine what he would have been like if he had lost?
He hasn't managed to accept his victory gracefully, what on earth makes you think he and his supporters would accept defeat the same way?

Kromo - //Also, Trump explicitly stated that he was going to "keep the country in suspense" about whether he would accept the election result if he lost. Multiple times said he wouldn't. //
Trump treated the election like it was a game show - because that is his experience.
Trouble is, he treats the Presidency like it is his own business, and that is the root of every single issue he has created thus far.
