If no evidence is found that President Obama ordered Trump Towers to be bugged, should he sue President Trump for defamation?

...because the long and short of it is - Obama has been accused of a crime!

If that's the criteria, Sp, he's fecked. Hardly likely there'll be a 'paper-trail' leading directly to Barry.
Of course, we already know that anything damaging to Trump mysteriously gets leaked to the anti-Trump press.
Truth will out.

Divebuddy,
I would suspect that the NSA is listening to EVERYBODY

Reminded of this

Sam,
If he cannot prove it, he shouldn't say it.
Trump has never held any office and is an amateur politician. And it is beginning to show.
presidential immunity from suit is discussed here

http://www.nytimes.com/1997/05/28/opinion/the-limits-of-presidential-immunity.html

Immunity was only examined in 1982 - golly that is late !
we did it around 1600
and Clinton ( "I did not have sex with that woman" ) was impeached for it
however it seems s/o else was allowed to indict him for sexual harassment - see NY times article
and it all depends on whether he is following his presidential duties

so for example he could be screwed for shop lifting - - - or tax evasion

and calling Obama not American-born would seem not to be
and also alleging that his phones were tapped whilst he wasnt president - doesnt sound very presidential to me

so perhaps boys and girls - he can be ( sued for libel) or could be

[the First Amendment thingey still stands and acts as an almost fatal bar]

{ damn I couldnt squeeze the phrase 'parens patriae' into this discussion - just to vex the usual suspects]
It's more or less impossible to prove they something DIDN'T happen, especially something like that. As for the FBI if they werent investigating some of these people they wouldn't be doing their job

Amazon is a shopping company, and it is mainly listening for clues to things you might want to buy.
Amazon's OS is a fork of Android which is owned by Google and is an information/ advertising company. The mine every bit of information they can find from your search/queries, and sell it to anyone who will buy it.
Alexa is not encrypted at either end, so it would be very easy for the NSA /Government to listen in. But you voluntarily accept Alexa into your home, and by doing so, you accept their terms and conditions.

// Alexa: Siri is a great app //

Siri is not an app. It ain't too great either.
// That's the issue - not that he was bugged, but that Obama ordered it.//

ouch ! you're sounding like Andy Hughes....

anyway the statement is in two parts innit ?
so if he was not bugged then the second part is irrelevant

which means that part of the issue IS whether he was bugged
sp at 19:11, I know.
