The problem in Africa is that the British, French and Dutch carved up the continent. Before they stuck their oar in, African people could migrate to other areas when the rains didn't come. They can't do that now because there is a border in their way. Hence, they are stuck in an area and famine is the result

No, I have no compunction to buy chief mumbo jumbo's 45th rolls royce. I do not give to any of these "charities" because none of it gets anywhere near those that need it. That goes for all of the head line charities. I only give to local good causes directly for specific things. Charities these days are purely to make money for the low lives that leech for them.

Is very depressing. Only 20% gets through to the people who need it. The receiving countries bump up landing charges for Oxfam's planes landing and for the storage of the aid and the rest gets stolen. Disgusting they are doing this to their own people. Man's inhumanity to man!

Absolutely not.

Most of the reasons have already been explained. But chiefly is that I already donate handsomely to the government's £11bn "Overseas Development" budget. They can use some of that to develop proper facilities in areas where it is totally unsuitable for humans to live even if they were not inclined to interminably fight each other and have far more children than the land is able to support .
