Can't say I agree that the confusion was understandable. The security forces should have been a well oiled machine and got her to the right car in the shortest time possible. They didn't.

And as I said if there had been a shooter about she was a sitting, or rather wondering, target.

cassa.......I know what you mean....it wasn't the smoothest of operations was it? I imagined that she would have been "ushered" into her car surrounded by "gorillas" but it looked as though she was left to find her own way.
When she got to the car and inside...the driver turned up late LOL.
Never miond she is safe and the end justifies the means I suppose.

Like Katie H. says; I get tired of listening to sanctimonious 'brave' speeches about how "we" will not be cowed and every one will carry on as normal, it's easier to say when you have half a dozen highly trained body guards and an armour-plated limo.

Are you referring to Boo's post or thread? But whichever, both are far from nonsensical.

This is about the safely of the second most important person in the land, and such security emergencies as this one should have been put to the test and rehearsed over and over again.

But obviously as in this case they wasn't, so therefore questions should be asked and more secure measures put into place.

If the car has keyless entry, and I would expect it to have, a person with a key on his person needs to be very close to the car before the door will unlock and open.

They're not there to be a body vest, they're there to secure the area and have an eye in each direction, which is why they spread out. I would guess.

What a strange observation!

I would think that anyone who has lived through war, and is therefore far more aquainted with terror and death than subsequent generations, would be entirely sympathetic towards everyone involved in this terrible day - not shrugging their shoulders and tutting about how things were so much worse in their day!

I'm in and out of central London all the time and am happy to report i'm not remotely 'terrified' either and I do think the security operation to get Teresa May into he car was absolutely shambolic, as was posting it for the world to see. which I'm sure the nasties are thrilled about. Certainly gives them a head's up about the state of her security. I don't like her and she'd be no great loss to anyone but her family, but convention does designate that we look after our Prime Minister so I do hope they do a better job than they appeared to be doing, as managing to whack her would be a real feather in their nasty little caps.

no doubt, andy. I'm pointing out that very few were involved. As I said, those who were there have every right to be upset. The 8 million or so who weren't (and that's just Londonders) don't require sympathy. On the level of the Blitz - or the 7/7 attacks - this is small change.

Looks to me like our security need to have a word with the POTUS's secret service. They should be a body vest and she should have been shoved unceremoniously into the vehicle and then driven out at speed, not do a 3 point turn !
