Don't tell me they have got to you at last?

That is frightening.
if a white Christian couple as we have seen in the news let out their hotel rooms to homosexuals but due to their faith didn't want them sharing the room, and were prosecuted for it. Then why can't this bloke sell his vehicle to whomsoever he pleases, without the law breathing down his neck.
No AOG , you are frightening.

Your final shot at 12.34 speaks volumes.

Sick.

A 'racist' joke????????????????

Oh dear that old overused 'R' word rears it's ugly head once again, that word that is supposed to stifle debate and leave us shuddering in total fear.

But please tell me allen, where have I made such a joke, please point it out, because I totally missed it?
"Is there a valid reason for selling a car only to English folk?"

Leaving aside the answer "because it's illegal", should he need a reason?

I am departing from this thread, because you lot just want to turn this thread into a slanging match.

In fact I will request that the Mods remove this thread so you lot can run away and have a go at someone else.

They should all be allowed to sell their own possessions to anyone who they choose.

They can.

By the way - the comment about blowing up cars is unhelpful.

It makes you sound bad.
I reported the blowing up cars comment
I would request the mods leave it.

NJ as far as I am aware, it is not unlawful for a private seller to restrict a sale only to certain folk but by doing so they must surely restrict their market. Thry don't need a reason but my question remains still, why would they do so? I am wondering why, in this instance, only English folk are considered not to be time-wasting?
Christ this thread is like a textbook on mental illness from some people's responses.
'Good old Great Britain' was only ever good or great if you were a white, Christian. middle class male. Thankfully we HAVE moved on from that and that involves bringing right wing, racist, xenophobic sexist people in line with the law we which was set up to make sure that ' Great Britain' is great for everyone. No possible logical reason for this ignorant fool to have placed the advert with the wording he did.
Apparently he can't AOG !

This man has behaved like a twit and has now been found out.

AOG....rather than whinging about everybody else, perhaps you should have thought about whether to post this daft thread in the first place.
"I am wondering why, in this instance, only English folk are considered not to be time-wasting?"

Sorry Corby, I didn't realise what you were getting at.

The man is clearly an idiot. If he wants to sell his car (and presumably he does or he would not have paid to advertise it) it surely makes no sense to restrict your potential audience of buyers. There must be time-wasters across all races and nationalities and similarly genuinely interested buyers. To assume otherwise is just daft.

The issue of legality may not be straightforward. In 1976 Robert Relf
put up a sale sign outside his house in Leamington Spa, which stated he would only sell to white people, which he later modified to "English people". He was eventually jailed for contempt after he refused to take the sign down. Without looking up the details I'm not sure why he was told to remove the sign. It may have been something to do with local authority bylaws or something rather than simply accusations of discrimination. However I doubt that even the most draconian of council bylaws extend to Facebook.
NJ....we may not be on the same side of the political fence, but I always bow to your better judgement regarding all things legal.

Does the various anti-discrimination laws not prevent anybody from advertising anything in this manner ?
