I do wish people would stop crediting UKIP as the engineers of Brexit. They weren't the political representatives, nor did they embody the ideals of the vast majority of leave voters. If they had been then there would have been a significantly larger percentage of the 17.4 million leave voters who voted for them in the general election, where they only got 4 million votes.
ichkeria, do you remember when Neil was in charge of the Sunday Time and they ran lots of articles explaining how there was no Aids epidemic, and heterosexuals were at no risk of contracting it?
A shame he never got round to interrogating himself.
Zacs....UKIP was only ever just a protest group, nothing more. We have to admit, that due to their incipient nuttiness and xenophobia, they managed to persuade people that by voting UKIP, they were going to get rid of all the foreigners in Britain.
Even though the Party is fast sinking without trace, there are still people that hang on to that belief.

lol that would have been amusing.
As for the basically sound idea (one which a lot more than the Greens grasp) is that while a majority voted for Brexit, opinion is divided on what sort of Brexit.
Where Ms Womack falls down is in using labels like "extreme" without having either the preparation, or the mental dexterity, to cope with Mr Neil's interrogation. So she avoids answering the questions directly.
mikey: "But Labour are still the Party of the working man, as far as I am concerned. " - sorry me old china, but take off that Blind fold. The leader is and no doubt those that elected him leader, twice, are but the PLP is full of Saint Tony Luvvies who are a cross between wet Tories and Limp dums with a garnish of the greens thrown in!
I have always wondered about the sheep mentality as well. Labour (and probably all the parties to an extent but it seems Labour supporters in particular) have a numb brain attitude to Support. Sheep bleating away in a field full of (that they determine) lovely grass and weeds to eat.
When you have a sheep mentality you don't have to think for yourself. You can just whip into the ballot box and put your x in the box. Oh how sweet and simple life must be for Labour supporters.
Labour will come back. It is difficult to get rid of a political party unless they decide it. But they keep coming back and bogging up the country again and it takes the Tories to get us out of the mess.
You can only give them so many chances before you have to tap them on the shoulder and say 'look here old chap, do t you think it's about time you hung up your hat and let the adults do it for you'.
