That's sad news, he was an excellent broadcaster, I loved "Sounds of the 60s".

RIP Brian.
Me too Mikey - he will be missed.
I loved Sounds of the 60s too, LIK. Sad news. RIP.

I used to listen to him many years ago, when I was on the night shift alone. He had a very calming sort of voice....never shouty like so many are nowadays.
Very sad - and more sad is that because of ill-treatment by the BBC, he was not able to die 'in service' as I am sure he would have wished.

RIP. I first saw him on Thank Your Lucky Stars on ABC Television 5:50 p.m. Saturdays. Then followed him on Sounds of the Sixties.
As you were, he's not dead. Critically ill: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-39500773
Brian Matthews is better. Oops.
Reports of his death were greatly exaggerated
Oh blimey!!!!! Glad to hear he is still with us and, wish him well.
second resurrection in 2000y
but it is eastertide
Very sad......didn't agree with all but he challenged thinking. That is his best testament.
so oops, come on BM, pull through.
What thinking did he challenge, DTC?
Another classic example of Fake News perpetrated by the BBC it seems.
