It was a blinkered description. One understands what was meant and an apology has been issued for the gaff. But it gives opportunity to mock: ought not go further though.
That said one would have thought those in high position would vet what they intend to put out, and have it vetted by their team. Seems rather incompetent.

On the first Day of Pesach Sean Spicer said to me...
possibly the clumsiest, most moronic, insensitive nonsense I've heard for some time. The man is a moron and it was offensive, however I am quite prepared to believe it was merely clumsy and insensitive because he lacks the credentials to do the job properly. He apologised, unreservedly. Should he leave his position because he was anti-semetic? No, because I don't believe he was intentionally so, but should he leave because he's a blithering idiot? Quite possibly.

God knows what happened just then ! Could a Mod please remove that post please ?
This is what I meant to post :::
I think we shouldn't overreact about what Spicer has said.
He was making a point, rather clumsily, that Assad is doing things to his own people that nobody else has done, since Saddam Hussein used poison gas on the Kurds, in Halabja, 1988.
Spicer could has chosen his words more carefully, but his meaning was clear.,,,,we was in no way making out Hitler to a good guy.

Perhaps that's because you're not Jewish Naomi. He said 'even Hitler didn't sink to using chemical weapons on his own people' and when EVERYONE in the room was thunderstruck and asked for clarification because all of those intelligent and worldly people were thinking about the Death Camps he made it worse by bumbling about and mentioning 'Holocaust Centres'- is that like Butlins or Centre Parcs do you think? Or do German Jews not count as his 'own people'? I agree it was more clumsy stupidity than actual malice but to suggest he said nothing wrong is ludicrous.
I think you both need to read my posts more clearly- he absolutely did say that. I have stressed that I think he was clumsy rather than malicious but he did say that. Please see this transcript if you don't believe me.
