This has happened before in the UK.The only difference is/was that the persons involved had BOTH been adopted.Under UK law an adopted person ceases to be their birth person/s, and becomes the adopted person/s.As such the two persons(although biologically related) can marry and have children. This may not be advisable biologically, but it is NOT illegal.
It's is a pretty sad story, the two people who suffer (and will continue to suffer) the most are the ones that are completely innocent.
However had they managed to conceive a child on their own none of this history would be known but I am unsure the chances of the baby having genetic problems.
pixie,When you are adopted in the UK you cease to have any legal connection with any members of your family, and as such adopted persons having relations cannot be regarded as incest.
Google is talking crap.As I said I am adopted and was going out with a guy who we discovered might be related to me(he wasn't after all) my solicitor explained what I have just said regarding adopted persons.
Which meant I could have (legally) married him,if I was related
I have taken up enough time on this, believe what you want to believe,I know what is right.
"Learning why the incest taboo exists
and why it is considered dangerous,
and, considering the implications of
breaking the law as incest is illegal
among close biological relatives
separated by adoption."
