the problem with nets is they catch other species apart from sharks... sharks do what sharks do..humans do not need to go in the water...they choose to do so , therefore accept the risks...

Ummmm....there are sharks everywhere in the waters surrounding OZ, and yet she still thought it was OK to go into the water. She could have surfed at a beach that had some precautions. The beach is still closed.
I'm with Billy Connolly on this one.....when sharks start following me round the supermarket nipping my behind, I might concede that a cull is in order. Until then, I'll stay out of the water and leave them to enjoy their watery world in peace.
Marine animals doing what marine animals do and coming close to humans accept the risks too. Humans are predators as well. Surely whatever is found in the nets are edible ? I reckon shark steak can't be that bad.
