The routine (officially condoned) slaughter of wild birds should make this 'holiday island' a pariah amongst civilised people - more power to CP's elbow in continuing to expose the vile practice.

Ummmm.....as you're going to continue visiting Malta how about doing a bit of birding?
If not for the illegal killing of so many beautiful birds and the legal recreational spring hunt Malta would be one of the top European birding destinations....and there are a lot of us..... :-)

CP is arranging a birding trip to Malta next year to show the people and the government just how much more money could come into Malta from this kind of tourism....
Will I join him?.....Hmmmm....I shall see......and if I do it will be just for the birds...honestly...... ;-)
Malta is very beautiful, as is Gozo, it is terrible though about the birds all being killed that i didn't know about, what a waste.
Gozo is beautiful but quite boring.

I've never been bird watching.
I'm told it is, Emmie......maybe one day.....x

Ummmm...lots of great birding spots around us.....borrow some bins....take a picnic...coffee and wine and spend a day in the woods.....bliss.....x
I think I'd find it boring.
Hmmm....okay then.....give UK birding a miss and go next spring in Malta......birding and bullet dodging would be far from boring..... ;-)
I've been to Malta the last two holidays so will be giving it a miss for a bit.

I do enjoy watching the birds it's just that I'm impatient :-)
I've bird watching many a time ;-) As I recall the ferry trip from Malta was a short journey... and we headed straight to bar front to have something scram and sat there in the blazing sun (In the shade) whilst others went off taking in the isle.
referring to Gozo btw.
I'll bet you have, Ark.......

Now give the feathered variety a go..... ;-)
ever since I' rescued a Raven from my chimney stack they follow me about... they're like guardians with wings.
Gorgeous birds....they make great familiars.... ;-)
oh yes and much bigger than they appear... up close they truly are. Much better to see them than those thieving magpies.
But look closely at the colours on a magpie......just stunning......x
Makes one think of West Brom.
Mmm....can't say I've ever looked at a magpie, Ark...and thought....

Whooooo......West Brom!.........x
I've never looked at the plumage of a magpie either it was a little snipe at the geordies... no offence was intended.
:-)....x
