The authority to create new Bank Holidays is a devolved power meaning the UK government cannot implement them outwith England.

Not sure the economy can afford 4 more days off - our productivity is below that of France (with many more holidays). Roll them all into one and celebrate June 23rd on behalf of all 4 home nations.

The working U.K. Population doesn't need more bank holidays to supplement a meagre holiday entitlement from Scrooge Mcduck enterprises. We have legislation in place for minimum holidays.

However I would like to see a couple extra that could be moved about to celebrate something from each particular year. Independance Day (when we finally leave the EU), Queenies 100th Birthday, first landing on mars, that sort of thing.
