"I wonder if she can speak coherently and articulately without the aid of an auto-cue? Her husband certainly couldn't. He was hopeless. A mumbling, stumbling, shambolic speaker if ever I heard one. "
Pardon??
The one soundbite I heard from her husband recently though hit the nail on the head re US politics: gerrymandering by both parties has polarised and stagnated the political process. Neither side relates to or engages with the other as they don't need to. So the Obamas have their finger on the pulse and I hope, and am sure, both will continue to contribute to politics etc in a positive way in future. Not sure the presidency is the way to go for Michelle though.

Didn't Michelle get a $200,000+ job in a university or local government after hubbie was elected? Since left job. Job not replaced. So not that important in the first place.
But "shrewd"? Yes, Birdie. Didn't do herself any disfavours. Give the woman some credit.
On the other hand, while Michelle has done rather well out of her husband's presidency, the rape victims of Boko Haram have benefited not a jot from her "principled" stance when she created #GiveUsOurGirlsBack.
Girls are raped, but the Michelles (a wide-spread community of pious hypocrites) are able to sleep comfortably in their beds.
