Does the fact that the gunman was white add anything to the story? He was a gunman - he killed one and injured another seven. Frankly I don't care if he was bumbee tartan, the result was the same.

As far as the issue driving your OP - it is a tragedy for all concerned.

As far as your efforts to spin it into your own private agenda concerning your attitudes to criminals of colour - or not, or your defence of the Daily Mail, or your perception that this somehow is deserving of applause or gratitude from other posters, I am entirely disinclined to become involved for very obvious reasons.

It does in terms of AOG's apparent reason for highlighting it - to simultaneously advise us that the Mail does not focus all its hostility towards people of colour, and that AOG does not either.

Posters' reactions to those viewpoints have caused the usual hostile reaction - those of us with experience will no doubt be sighing and looking elsewhere on the site for more amenable debates.
