They shouldn't be indicative - local politics are a different kettle of fish - but in this case I think that they might be. All sorts of things can happen - complacent Tory vote and resurgent Labour vote, to name but two. Generally speaking I think that they indicate a decent Tory majority (not a landslide, which I would deplore).

Re: UKIP I would probably vote for them again, if they field a candidate, just to remind Mrs. May of the strength of feeling. I suspect that most Ukip voters will vote Conservative just to ensure Brexit.........they now feel reasonably sure that T.M. is a safe bet.

Next election ---- who knows?

Happily, the Tories cannot sack me JD! There is something psychologically nasty that happens in politics when the majority is too big i.m.o.p. A sensible and comfortable majority will be fine.

labour are dead in the water, bad leader and dodgy cabnet members.. abbot for one, and they would like to run the country, more debt more union power, more strikes..if they won the pound would plummet to zimbabwean dollar value, embrace venezuela's socialism, it so works and corbyn loves it.
