OMG !
How could they do that! I can understand how the girl felt.

The police should be investigated over their handling of this case.
utter scum!
Stupid parents....not controlling their brats.

Not sure why there was a manslaughter charge though. Bollen clearly said she was going to kill this poor woman, and then did exactly that. So why wasn't she charged with murder ?

This case is further complicated by Ms Machin not receiving proper medial treatment.

The mind boggles....lets hope these two killers are given long prison sentences.

I'm also amazed that the paramedics didn't take her to hospital!
It's not just 'over a football' is it? The report say there has been a long history of trouble with the neighbour. It is another case of a dispute between neighbours that got out of hand. Does not excuse the attack in any way though.
Why did the Police not immediately arrest the person Ms Machin said had tried to kill her ? Why did the ambulance staff not take her to Hospital ?

I presume that there will now be an enquiry into the actions taken by both the Police and the Ambulance authorities.

Smow, this is terrible, on saying that there's a dog near us that I would gladly put down, Yes I know it's nit the dogs fault but the owners, this animal was at it last year with it's barking near enough for hours on end, it has been reported to the council but nothing done, someone one day will do something drastic, I live on the opp side of the gardens to this dog, it's terrible when you are trying to get some piece in the garden.
^ exactly mikey , this could never be classed as murder. There was a threat to kill but it was 'in the heat of the moment' during an argument. Even a manslaughter charge may fail and this will probably by downgraded to GBH S18 .(GBH with intent) which will be a prison sentence but only 2 or 3 years.
I don't usualyy do grammar/spelling police but TWR's post ticked me>

// it's terrible when you are trying to get some piece in the garden.//

He means "peace", of course, but it sounds like he's trying to get a sneaky girlfriend (piece) into the house and the barking dog gives the game away.
It's terrible.

Saying that...I wouldn't have an issue with a ball landing in my garden. I'd just tell the kids to climb over the wall.
Welsh Bhj lol
Hows Reading this Morning?
I'm sure some brief will find a liberal judge that effectively 'lets him off'

I'm also sure any investigation will return with "Lessons learned ........" ie we are doing Jack about it.
We got balls over the wall but no kid dared climb over. 41Kg of prime Boxer waiting on the other side.

I just kick them back (and hope my lousy aim does not hit any glass)!
Eddie....we may be at cross purposes here. I can see no reason why this woman couldn't be charged with murder, as she was clearly intent on killing Ms Machin. I am sure that some legal mind will be able to explain.

But the important thing is that these two people were found guilty of manslaughter. It will be interesting to see what kind of sentence will be handed out...lets hope its the correct one.
TWR - sun crackin' t'flags this morning.
^ I can't see that the situation would support a manslaughter charge, this is proved by the fact that the police did not immediately arrest the offender. An arrest would have been made if the police thought there was a danger that the injury could prove fatal.
Medical services should be asked some awkward questions too. A proper examination would have shown up more important damage.
Ok sorry there have been found guilty of manslaughter. I misread it.
