Political 'door Knockers'.
Politicians seem to hold great store by "getting out and knocking on doors" (even the PM). Have you ever been swayed to change you mind for whom it is you want to vote, or do you think you could be ?

Does it work? Like TTT has pointed out for tv coverage yes, marginals yes but generally no.
Never had a knock in 18 years in this current house. Never had a knock in any previous houses either.

Its a no and no from me as well !
No, nobody round yet TTT, but I am guessing that the huge red VOTE LABOUR poster in my front window might have helped there. The Labour people never call, but always wave, and the others probably think that any effort would be wasted.
Its a pity though, as I would love a frank discussion with any UKIP/Tory. A few years ago, before UKIP had been invented, I was approached by somebody from the BNP, but some good old fashioned Anglo Saxon soon stopped him in his tracks !

i remember that a guy i knew a Lib dem councillor came knocking at our block. i didn't answer the intercom but instead looked over the balcony, and called down and asked what he wanted. He was indeed electioneering, and so i told him i had already voted, as i vote by post.
he then asked me how i voted, something i don't think is legal, as the election hadn't happened yet, i told him that my vote was private thank you, so off he shuffled.

Back in the 80's, I was doing my shopping here in the village and this large chap approached me, with a BBC camera crew in attendence. He was the local SDP candidate, a certain Mr Gwynoro Jones, and he bounded up full of bonhomie and said
" Good Morning, I am your local SDP candidate and I trust I can rely on your support on Thursday ! "
I replied " Well, I'm afraid your trust is sadly misplaced" and walked away.
I was on the local news that night !
Actually, he was quite a nice chap.
