but the problem is, where are they all going to go, as Some 44,222 asylum seekers have reached Italian shores this year, compared to 31,205 at the same time last year.

And their tourist trade is bound to suffer, like some of the other European holiday destinations.

Mikey, you're right.
Harsh though, could we try a blockade off the north African coast first?
Easier then to drag them back to their setting-off point.
Unsure what the major issue is, They sailed north, one helps them return safely to the coastline to the south. Of course it would help if satellite surveillance showed exactly where the boats travelled so that there was no denial of starting point.
trt...we could use submarines to torpedo them !
Crikey Mikey! You're full of bright ideas today! Keep them coming!
“Yeah...but if they get rid of their paperwork, then what?”

“I don't think we should but where are they returned to?”

That is only a problem if their point of embarkation is unknown.

“Of course it would help if satellite surveillance showed exactly where the boats travelled so that there was no denial of starting point.”

It does, OG. Believe me I know. Satellite surveillance is available to the UK and other EU countries which can tell observers what newspaper those being watched are reading. The authorities know exactly where these people have set out from to within a yard or two. They should simply be intercepted and towed back whence they came. They should be put ashore and the boats destroyed.

So long as the European nations continue to ferry them to Europe and subsequently fund their existence this invasion will prevail. As I keep suggesting, in the long term its effects will be every bit as profound as if they had pitched up in warships armed to the teeth. It needs to be made abundantly clear that setting out in a rubber boat from North Africa for a “new life” in Europe is simply not an option and will not be tolerated.
Quite right, NJ.
ummmm

/// Again...where should they be returned to? ///

/// They land in a country and they don't speak the language. Send them where? ///

Back to the country that does speak their language.
I wonder if the French will accept the swarms of British anti Brexits when they leave the UK for their beloved Europe?
I dont feel sorry for them, all they have to do is turn the boats away and refuse to let them dock.

The boats that are rescuing them should take them straight back to whence they came and any boats they do dock should be charged with colluding with and being part of a people smuggling ring.

Dave.
Have you seen how crammed these boats are?
