Let them show their true colours and people might see how dangerous they are.
Just an excuse for a bit of shopping with violence. If I had business premises any where near, they would be locked and boarded up.
Problem here is will it be a repeat of the 3£ labour party membership, when lots of tories joined to bring Labour down. Will the Tory Thugs join in the Protest for obvious reasons, and not show their true colours???
Is it illegal to hold protests?
As I see it, this fire was a terrible tragedy, and in time it may be proved that corner-cutting was involved, and charges may be brought.

But for now, I think society should be dealing with the tragedy as that - a tragedy where lives have been lost and ruined.

On that basis, I remain baffled as to how this has evolved into a class war symbol, and a perceived reason for civil disobedience.

I fully appreciate that people feel aggrieved about poor housing and similar social injustice, but to take this event and market it as a governmental failure seems to me to exhibit less the caring attitude that should underpin such views, and more the need to self-publicise and make a noise, none of which aids the victims, or wider society, in the slightest.
The fire is a convenient incidental to these people. Their purpose is to bring the government down by any means possible.
Marxist Marches will not help the homeless from Grenfell Tower.
The 'Sun' has reported :-

"Two Churches in North Kennington, currently helping survivors of the blaze, said they couldn’t “emphasise enough” how much Grenfell residents are against The Day of Rage."

'Movement for Justice By Any Means Necessary (MFJ), '

Well they have sunk low with these 'Means'. Shocking behaviour when many are grieving.

/// Is it illegal to hold protests? ///

It seems it can be, it all depends on who's protesting.

Where any protests aim is to bring the capital down or to a standstill no it should not be allowed. And that stands for left wing right wing on the fence, whatever.

As well as a right to protest people also have a right to go to work to put food on the table.

If there is violence, a lot of it will be due to people simply wanting to go looting to get free stuff hoping to get away with it in the mayhem, simple as that.
It will all depend if they ship in Momentum rent-a-mob. If they do then McDonell should be investigated for incitement to violence.
If the far left are out how about the police hand out soap and shampoo and then get the fire brigade give them a good hosing down !!
frazer...That's a good suggestion. After all, it would only need a few sharp shots with a water cannon, because the people protesting are all quite likely to be already more than half soaked individuals

Or the Great Unwashed.
Since 'The Great Unwashed' refers to the majority of the populace, I would suggest that these spiteful attention-seekers are outwith that demographic, and another equally derogatory term will need to be used to describe them.
Lenin called the hangers-on, idealists, and naive Useful Idiots.
That's a phrase that gets bandied about on here quite a bit!!
