Alas, I'm not famous enough to appear on 'Who do you think you are'? :-(
" The prince also spoke about walking in the funeral procession for his mother, Princess Diana, when he was 12, saying no child "should be asked to do that".

Exactly what I have been saying for years.....it was akin to child cruelty to make him and his brother do that.
I think that it says all you need to know about the Royal Family....cold, aloof and out of touch.

But he and his brother are different people altogether, and that is down to one person only....their Mother. She made sure that they grew up as the rounded individuals that they are. I am far from being a Royalist, but I think we should be justly proud of the two of them.

How was that possible?
far from being a Royal-ist (I'm not anti them) but I do like Harry seems a good fella and nearly as funny as his granddad.

Not sure how the 11:28 post answers the OP tbh.
11:42, r/e Mikeys post at 11:28. perhaps it's because the link is about the Royal Family
lol Gulliver !

What do you not understand?
No thanks.
I can go out when I want, shop where I want, shake hands with people at the right time without it making any news, change my hairstyle if I want.
Wouldn't mind someone else to do the cooking and cleaning tho :-)
It's not for me, but then as an anti Royalist what else could I say?
Interesting. I still object to being kept away from funerals as a child. I was being left out of known relatives' "departure". Not something one should force on another.
I bet Harry's glad he's 5th in line and even further if Kate and Wills have more kids!

I agree OG, I was nine when my beloved Granddad died and I so wanted to see him and go to the funeral, but I wasn't allowed.
sure, cut ribbons shake hands wave at crowds, concerts events travel
gifts nice palaces to walk around, all them antiques to muse at, and tho food...well, but you would become a target possibly, so would i
mmm yea why not.
I am a bit puzzled here. Why did The Queen use the coach and horses, to attend a race-course, but not to attend the opening of Parliament. The former was a nice day out for her, and the latter was a public duty.
//But the temporary changes for this year are simply down to timing. Trooping the Colour took place on Saturday 17 June, and with only a few days until the next major royal event, the State Opening, there was little time to rehearse. Back in April, Buckingham Palace acknowledged the tricky logistics, saying that the State Opening would take place with "reduced ceremonial elements". Officials insisted that the changes had nothing to do with the Queen's 91 years of age but rather lack of time to rehearse properly.//
the coach and horses at Ascot are different from the Royal Procession of opening Parliament (again)
Have heard it said that due to the proximity of trooping the colour and the 'snap' election, Her Majesty attended opening of parliament to reflect that.
Don't think she decided on no pomp and circumstance tho
mamy....the Queen has been opening Parliament on average, once a year, for as long as I have been alive. The Palace of Westminster and Buck House are still in the same place as they were this time last year. I wouldn't mind betting that the horses could probably have found their own way there and back.

It was a lovely Bentley by the way.
Don't tell me , tell them.
different horses tho Mikey
(am only guessing, it's not necessarily a fact x)
