I know that, but your link says //Any rent deducted since the blaze will be refunded// so no doubt they've rectified it.

More might be done if everybody didn't have to stop what they were doing to listen to yet another opinion from a shouty person for fear of being pilloried for ignoring their viewpoint or disrespecting them.

Nobody can do a damned thing but some street expert is all over it with criticism.

In reality, everything the Council has done, has had to be dragged out of them, piece by piece. They have showed a complete inability to cope with this affair.

Other neighbouring Councils have offered to help but all these offers have either been ignored or rejected.

A couple of Councillors falling on their swords isn't going to cut the mustard here.

Mrs May should pull her finger out and take over the Council with immediate effect.

I haven't heard about that. Can you elaborate?

Another point is that once it gets past a certain point in the month the direct debit will still come out, working in the financial sector we had lots of people ring to cancel the product they were paying for, after this date if the money is in the account it WILL go out on the due date unless there is no money in the account, in which case they will try again within 48 hours.

the only way to stop it after the cut off point is to make sure you have no money in the account it comes from.
