Flew back from training o-seas for Bradley Lowery's funeral - and, apparently, they meant a lot to each other. This is one of these stories that shows footballers in a good light, whatever they earn.

altruistically they don't, ummmm , but in an environment where the millions count and the rest, it's nice to see someone grounded to give back to Bradley what Bradley gave to him - and others.

Yes, very impressive showing for Defoe. I must admit I had a little cry when the wee lad passed away.

But his last few months/weeks were about as special as anybody could make it, and most of that is down to Defoe.

I'm not taking away from that. He made Bradley's horrible time so much happier.

Defoe is clearly kind and I'm sure he would be regardless of his millions.
