It's like any other law - you largely rely on people complying. After that you prosecute people found breaking it. Just like wearing seatbelts, using a 'phone whilst driving, breaking into other people's homes etc.

I don't know why this wasn't done sooner.

We have one at work and it needs a licence to fly it. It was purchased two years ago. Maybe it's the size.

What I mean is maybe the bigger ones needed a licence but the smaller ones didn't.

they may well do to a tiny minority ummmm but how to police it ? the risks to human life outweigh the need in my opinion....

But that's not why the action has been taken to introduce licenses. I'd no idea they'd been used to get drugs into prisons tho!

They need to have a license.

We had to get one. Only one person in the firm is qualified to fly it.

They aren't a toy. People need to be qualified before they can purchase one.

restrict the sale to that like ummmm said ..licence first... from professional sources..not toy shops etc and confiscate the rest !

I work for a security firm and we look after quite a few newly built/currently being built housing estates. So much have been stolen off these estates. Someone actually stole a whole kitchen!

We have patrol cars and someone uses the drone, so the whole site is monitored. The drone is registered and not used outside the sites listed.

This is a typical case of technology being ahead of the law, as usual. Something should have been done years ago.
